Nursery Ideas for Boys

By Jo Philipp

Little boys’ nurseries should be full of colour and action, and we have picked some of our favourite nursery ideas for you to look at. The below ideas can help you add a lot more focus to your decorating project and ensure your room is full of fun details and educational elements to support your baby’s development.

Although a central theme is not necessary for a nursery, it can make the process a little easier. The following ideas can easily work as the central theme or you can play around with the ideas, adding your own personal touch to the looks!

Blue Sky and White Clouds

Blue is still among the favourite nursery colours for baby boys. Blue is a serene colour that adds depth to a nursery. You can easily combine it with other colours for a brighter look.

One of our favourite combinations is a mix of blue and white, and what better way to highlight these colours then in a sky and clouds look.

Paint the walls with a sky blue colour – you can easily opt either for a darker blue in larger nurseries or a lighter blue in smaller rooms. Add white cloud stickers on the walls and use a quirky hot air balloon sticker on one of the walls or on a smooth wardrobe door.

Highlight the cloud aspect with your fabrics as well. Choose light, fluffy fabrics and add a white soft rug on the floor. If you like a bit of DIY, you could also create your own cloud-like pillows.

Using Wall Stickers to Create a Fun Playroom

By Jo Philipp

Wall stickers are a clever way to decorate a child’s bedroom or playroom.

Instead of just adding them on the walls, look to incorporate their design and theme into the room’s décor. This way, you’ll end up with an interactive and creative room that sparks the child’s imagination and makes play time more fun and educational.

If you are looking to create a fun and creative playroom, then here are some ideas on how to use wall stickers in your décor.

Educational Fun

Toddler playrooms should have plenty of educational toys and decorations. You don’t want to make the room feel like a schoolroom where all your little one does is study the alphabet, but at the same time you do want to encourage your child to ask questions and learn new things. If you make learning a fun experience that takes place during playtime, your child won’t ever lose that quest to experience and discover new things.

Do Wall Borders Work on Their Own?

By Jo Philipp

Decorating a child’s bedroom can sometimes be a costly process. Sometimes it is due to people trying to fit too many decorative elements into the room, especially on the walls, thinking children’s bedroom walls require more decorations to look good. But you have ways to achieve a beautiful, colourful look without having to fill your walls with expensive decorative elements.

Wall borders are a great way to save money, while still adding plenty of character to the room. There are also plenty of ways to make use of wall borders in children’s rooms. Here’s a look at how to make the most of wall borders when using them on their own.

No Necessity to Use Paint

Wall borders are a great way to add colour to a room and you don’t necessarily need to repaint the bedroom walls, especially if you have a very neutral paint colour already in the room, and your walls are clean.

If your walls are painted with a clear colourful shade, try to ensure the wall border that you use has this same colour in its design. It doesn’t need to be the main colour in the wall border, but you want the design to fit the wall paint.
